A recent lengthy email and then today a comment on one of my posts, made me think about how easy it is to get distracted by the claims of some conspiracy theorists. We can forget to focus on the real problems caused by Monsanto and other huge industrial mega-giants who want to totally control our food supply if we get caught up in the more outlandish claims some make. The comment, posted by a very intelligent individual who often makes informative, enlightening, contributions here, contained a link to a website containing some very good videos and information on a wide variety of topics. Here is the link to some of videos that are especially really are worth watching. The issue with sites like that is often not the original information put up on the website, but the information contributed by some of the commentators.
As one example, a commentator there made the claim that Monsanto and other companies like it are poisoning food on purpose in order to reduce the population of the planet. Now I do not like Monsanto and disagree with almost every corporate focus they have. I also think they make some terribly dangerous products. Of course that is just my opinion, but when you look at things like “Round Up Ready Corn”, it is hard not to get worked up. On the other hand, I do not believe some of the more outrageous claims of the “evils” of Monsanto. In this case, I seriously doubt that Monsanto and the US government are in cahoots to depopulate the planet. After all, this population is Monsanto’s customer base. Monsanto is all about increasing the bottom line for their shareholders and it is this single minded focus on profits and market control that is the danger.
If we allow ourselves to get distracted by claims of the “Illuminati” or “population control”, we risk losing ground in the fight to control the real threats to our health and the environment. GMO food, pesticide resistant food crops, and the pesticides themselves are where we need to focus our energy. We can deal with the Illuminati later…. I hope.

Oh no, the Illuminati have gotten to Will!
Heh. Actually my point is that they have not gotten to me….. yet.
Seems like you are trying to play down the seriousness of Population Control Will. Dennis may be right
Tony´s last blog ..Winter Approaches Tasmania
I have always believed from my teenage years onwards that all the tampering with our food via chemical additives is the main reason for so much cancer in the modern world
Tony´s last blog ..Winter Approaches Tasmania
On that last point I think you are correct Tony. Winter is approaching eh? In the US we have a lot of people who live in the North in the summer and go to Arizona of Florida in the winter. I wonder if there are any people who do the same between the northern and southern hemispheres?
I found the following comment on another site. Seems some are drinking the “Kool-Aid”!
I know a lot of Southerners go north to Queensland for their winter holidays where it’s still quite warm in winter. We lived there for 5 years then came back to Tasmania to escape the never ending heat

I’m afraid we now have to deal with all the crap … there is just no avoiding, conspiracy or not … In healing there are now some techniques that work with DNA, so maybe we can get to a point that we are immune to all the food manipulations …
I couldn’t have said this better myself. If we lost focus of the real issues we lose ground for which we can actually make some changes.

Will I love conspiracies, lol. On the side note I once purchased book about medical conspiracies, etc etc. The author disclosed some information that I wanted to know more about, but you have to buy the book, the book was good but then if you wanted even more information you had to subscribe to the web site – I stopped with the book. Damn they got me again, lol, because of my curiousness, lol. Anna

Anna´s last blog ..A Simple Beauty Of The Green Season
Now that is modern marketing Anna. I don’t really love or hate conspiracies. It is probably just me but most of the ones I read about seem to cause more harm to the people who get caught up in them than the people who are supposedly targeted by them.
