Bounty From The Garden

by Will

This has been a cool, wet spring here in Southern Oregon.  Some vegetables like the lettuce, and these edible pod peas shown below, love the weather.  Other plants, like the tomatoes, peppers, squash, and pumpkins are not as happy.  Hopefully these heat loving crops will catch up when our inevitable hot weather arrives!

Wow Will,
Nice peas! :)
We’ve had cool weather too, but have managed to get a few peas, many green beans, and a couple of zucchini… Now if we could just get some HOT weather perhaps our green tomatoes will start turning red! :) ~ Steve

Will, our weather is not any better. Its been hot, and now its cold, feels like it is going to snow. I just planted my tomatoes in the pots, I think you still have a chance. Peas looks great, I get them from my mother in law. In addition, Matthew knows his stuff. I give him fruit from store, there is sometimes chance he will eat it, but he loves eating in the garden from plants, like raspberries, and tomatoes were the latest. Good luck with your gardening, and hope good weather coming your way. Anna :)

In the deep south we are really dry! Tomatoes, corn and peas are at a peak but if we don’t get rain it is going to be a short season.
