I noticed a spike in visitors this week and wondered if they were going to a specific post. A spike is easy to notice when you have only 200 – 400 unique visitors a day. Several days this week broke the 500 mark. Upon investigation they appeared to be spread out which is a good thing I guess. I did notice that well over 100 visitors over the past few days landed here using a variation or two of the following search. I guess it is the time of year. We plant our gardens, a few weeks later we are feeding the bugs. I always plant a bit extra for the insects and occasional disease organisms. This way I don’t have to use any sprays. The one pest I am having trouble accommodating is the family of Pocket Gophers that have decided they want to live in one of my vegetable gardens. Remember Caddy Shack?
Anyway this week the search is: “bugs in my vegetable garden”

hey Will,

I remember Caddy Shack! I’ve got an occasional gopher problem too. That’s why several of my tomato plants are safely planted in wine barrels (though I think they do better in the ground). Anyway, as long as the gophers stay away from the garden I won’t go “Bill Murray” on them.

I am in the midst of a war with them right now. The 14 acre field just beyond my garden is no longer cultivated or irrigated so the devils come to my watered garden!
hey Will,
Maybe you need to plant and water some stuff out in that field for them!
And what “weapons” do you use in your war? ~ Steve
