This week is another SEO mystery. Truth is I could not do this if I tried but it happens once in a while. Maybe I should try selling myself as an SEO expert. Anyway this week several people landed on this post when doing a search for: botanical sanitizer.
A Google search I did for that term brought the post up as the second result on the first page of 317 results. Someone else used the search phrase botanical sanitizer food. When I try that I am the top result out of eight. So the key to bring some people to your site is to use keywords that are not widely used. That way when they are used, the searchers will find your pages. Of course the very fact that the keyword is not widely used limits the number of people that will find your site using the search term. For example, even though my post was at the top of the Google results, only 11 people actually viewed the post this week.
So I guess the real measure of a SEO expert would be to get posts to the top of the search results using the most popular key words. By that measure, this site is all over the place, sometimes shwing above the fold out of hundreds of thousands of results. Other times, buried so deep,the resulting page will never be seen.
