Hi everyone. I have been so busy, with leaf pickup and other stuff that I am not even keeping up with my comments this week. Oh well, winter is coming and the outdoor work will be gone.

Steve – What happens is that sometimes the top of a tree is knocked off in a winter storm. If the tree is secure enough, both in stability and in location, often Osprey will target it to build their nest. So it is a totally natural thing, quite a ways out in the woods. It is right next to a lake, however as Osprey are fish eaters also known as the “Fish Hawk”.

Hi Will,
Awesome picture. This is a case where I have a small issue with the “wordless” part of Wednesday. I’d be very curious to know where it was taken and if people cut off the top of the tree for the nest, or if that’s entirely natural?
Very cool shot. Could you HEAR the osprey landing (the air movement)?
