I love Osprey, and you have captured a nice one. Great photo!

I just got back from an Osprey photo session and have photos on my site.

So majestic! I’d love to be an eagle, but not so keen on the flesh-eating part :D

hi Will,
Nice shot! We went to the zoo this weekend and got to see the bald eagles there (majestic birds!), and also saw the new California condors they now have on exhibit. So you photo is very timely, at least for me! ~ Steve, the trade show guru

Thanks everyone. It is actually an Osprey. We see them all the time now at pretty much any mountain lake we visit. Often a single lake will have 2 or 3 nesting pairs. And yes they are strictly fish eaters I believe. I have been in a canoe quietly sitting in the middle of a lake and had an Osprey plunge down into the water just a few feet away with a thunderous splash, lifting off with a trout in it’s talons. They are also very vocal birds with a beautiful, distinct cry.

Oh Will this is amazing photo of the osprey. Well done! I wish ours on the pond near by came out closer to the boardwalk. Thanks for sharing, excellent again. Anna :)
