Sunday Search of the Week 5-09-2010

Sometimes these searches contain a word that really makes you wonder. This week’s is that word is “Wollongong” and when I first saw it I had no idea how this site could relate.  This happens fairly often and it is always interesting when I, (well actually usually Steve), am able to track down the source of the search result.   This work was part of the search: “battery recycle wollongong” I did the search myself and sure enough the 3rd result was this post on recycling alkaline batteries.  Thank you Robert, for your comment and resulting Google placement!  I wonder if the plant is making any progress towards opening?

Hey Will, I’ve been to Wollongong. It’s about an hour drive south of Sydney. Nice place. There are some strange sounding place names here in Australia. A lot of the unusual ones are Aboriginal names.

hey Will,
I was wondering what “Wollongong” was until I read the comment on your post. This is a great reminder of the power and benefit of comments! Cool “Sunday Search”. 🙂 ~ Steve

Now that you mention it Tony, it does sound like an Aboriginal name. My wife and oldest daughter have been to Australia a few times. My daughter spent 6 months there last year.

You know Steve, many of the searches I don’t immediately understand end up being the result of a comment. As there are now over 4,500 comments here, they can be quite a powerful search attractant.

Thank you for your comments
