Many months ago I wrote a post that I started with “In the far northern reaches of Europe on a Norwegian island, is what many hope will save the genetic diversity of plant life throughout the world.” If you read that post and the links in it, you might detect that I was very enthusiastic about the whole enterprise. The post continues to get a lot of readers who click through to the seed vault site. Recently, thanks to a comment on that post by Ruth, my enthusiasm has been dampened. Ruth linked to a site that paints a VERY different picture of the seed vault, a picture that is actually quite disturbing. I did a little research online and then read the about page on the global research Canada site and it looks well run and seems to be a source of legitimate, accurate, information. All of which makes me feel very wary about what the Svalbard Seed Vault might really be intended for. If you are interested in seeing the genetic diversity of this world protected, read the post Ruth liked to. Let me know what you think. Should we be worried? Or might Monsanto and company really have our best interests at heart this time? I know what I think.

Very concerned here…there seems to be mounting evidence about how truly evil Monsanto is and how deeply they’re trying to get their claws into every area of our lives.

There was a show on TV yesterday about the Millennial Seed Vault but I am not sure if it is the same one because I missed some of the show so am unsure of where it was.
