An injured branch responds with the beginnings of a “Witch’s Broom“.

I like this shot – very cycle of life with the dead branches and the new growth.

The image from my blog is actually from Acadia but it reminds me of a lot of scenes from New Hampshire too. My parents retired to the Lakes Region a few years ago so we’ve been spending August there the past few years. What a beautiful area.

I think I’m going to Google “witch’s broom” because I think I’m missing something interesting here.

HI Will,
That is cool looking. I’m going to google “witch’s broom” because I’m not sure if you’re using the term because of Halloween or other reasons.

Thanks for the comments. Maybe I will also Google “witch’s broom”. I have always thought they were only the result of an injury, but maybe there can be a disease involved also?

“Witch Broom” Google will definitely show different results but in image search we will find pictures if witches only.
