It’s Mt. McLoughlin, a dormant volcano here in Southern Oregon. 9,495 feet. It is actually a shot from last year. I posted it because this year we are having a cold, wet May and predicted start of June. The climbing season will be very short in 2011. Right now there is probably 20 or 30 feet of snow in places up there.
Good one Tony. I think I’ll post a photo of the last 1/4 mile or so of the climb up to the top. It is really one of a kind. It is a several mile hike to the top and that last part probably stops 1/3 of the people attempting the summit.

What a gorgeous vista truly feels as though you are looking out from on top of the world.
The 1st thing I thought of was Midnight Oil’s song “King of the Mountain”. Someone sure worked hard carrying all those rocks up there…

Oh pictures like that motivate me to travel, but not for a while, lol.
