I have written about how bad this stuff is many times on this site. Today my daughter sent me a link to a site that I had not seen before that actually defends HFCS! I don’t want to give them a link here, but if you look for hfcsfactsdotcom, you will find it.
A close look shows the site belongs to The Corn Refiners Association. Enough said about that. Stay away from HFCS and all products that contain it. Your health will be better for avoiding it like the plague.

Good advice, though I admit I only try to avoid it, I don’t actually avoid it as fully as I would avoid the plague. The US Food and Drug Administration ruled that http://engineering.curiouscatblog.net/2008/04/03/high-fructose-corn-syrup-is-not-natural-food/“>HTCS is not natural food

Hi,
My google alert picked up your post. Here’s another reason to stay away from HFCS, especially HFCS-55 which sweetens many beverages:
The math. Although the difference of saccharides in HFCS-55
(55%fructose:45%glucose) appears to just be 5% off from sucrose
(50% fructose:50%glucose), the ratio fructose:glucose yields a different number. 55/45=1.22. This means that everytime a teenager
chugs a Coke or Pepsi (bottled in the US), his liver is receiving
the health “benefits” of 22% excess fructose, compared to glucose.
As you know, it is the fructose moiety that leads to long term health hazards. Now, if a midwestern piano teacher who enjoys math can figure this out, you know that the CRA and the sugar chemists at
Cargill and Archer-Daniels-Midland are very aware of these figures.
Amen to ditching HFCS. Take care
It’s so important to know who is conducting the research. Often companies produce this slanted research to mislead the public. I’ll be staying away from high fructose corn syrup.
Interesting. Thanks Will.

Thomas’ English Muffins seem to be rejecting HFCs… just took this pic at lunch.

Wow! That is quite the endcap or display box! Sure jumps out at you. Thanks for posting the photo. I try not to eat English Muffins. Too much processing for my tastes, but this is a step in the right direction for sure. I will look at the ingredient list next time I am at the store. Bet it is pretty long.
